Top 3 Reasons Why Business Blogs Fail

Here today, gone tomorrow. That seems to be the lifespan of many business blogs these days. The blog goes up, it fails to deliver the desired result, and it then gets abandoned. It's an endless cycle of waste.

Wasted time. Wasted energy. And in come cases, wasted money!

In order to avoid this cycle and ensure the success of your own blog, you must first understand the reasons why business blogs fail. This will give you insight into what not to do, as well as revealing the things you should be doing.

Reason #1 - The Blog Lacks a Purpose

A business blog that lacks a purpose will also lack direction. When that's the case, the blogger does not know who the intended audience is or what kind of information they want. Without these essential ingredients, how would you even begin to write the first post?

Ask yourself the following questions with regard to blogging. What are my goals? What do I hope to get out of my publishing efforts? How will my blog support my company's marketing and communications goals? You should answer these questions before you even write your first post.

You should be able to state your blog's purpose in one or two sentences. For example: "The purpose of my blog is to educate small business owners on the benefits of Internet marketing." Notice that this statement has an action (to educate), an audience (small business owners), and a subject (Internet marketing).

Reason #2 - The Blog Lacks Originality

There are literally millions of bloggers publishing content online each week. So how will your blog stand apart from the rest? Even within your topical niche and specific area of expertise, there is guaranteed to be dozens, hundreds or even thousands of bloggers publishing new content on a regular basis.

In order to succeed in such a crowded space, a business blog must offer something original. Originality can come from many sources. A blogger can provide tips or instructions that are hard to find elsewhere, offer a fresh new insight into a particular topic, or even create a new topic that nobody else is blogging about. These are just three ways to add originality to a business blog. The main thing is to be original in some way, shape or form.

Reason #3 - The Blogger Lacks Patience

In some cases, a new blogger will already have an audience from day one. For example, if a popular news columnist ventures online to start a blog, he or she will soon have fans flocking to the new site. But such cases are rare.

It is more realistic that when you first start blogging you will have an audience of one (yourself). But this can change over time, as long as you put in the effort to publish quality content on a regular basis. Many business bloggers lack the patience and determination necessary to build an audience. It's hard work, and it usually takes weeks, months or even years to accomplish.

It's really all a matter of expectation. If a business blogger expects to generate a vast amount of leads or sales from the blog in a short time, he or she will normally come away frustrated. On the other hand, when the publisher outlines clear objectives for the blog and publishes quality content over a period of time, the audience will eventually grow. And with that audience comes blogging success in general (leads, sales, subscriptions, or inquiries).

Why People Fail To Earn Using Blogs?

There are over 70 million blogs on the internet right now. This number keep going up as more and more people get the writing and information bug and want to be able to make money from home. While there isn't a given number on how many of those 70 million plus blogs make money, I would venture to say that more then half of them do not. I would even go as far to say that for every ten blogs that are created today, four of them will make money.

What is the reason for so many people failing at making money using their blog? Well there isn't just one reason there are several. To better understand why people fail you need to understand that building an internet business is not easy. It takes time, effort, energy and consistency. That is only the start. All of these places promising to make you hundreds of dollars a day in twenty four hours are unrealistic. No one builds a successful business on the internet or elsewhere that quick. So let us now take a look at a few reason people fail.

1. Poor planning and a bad mindset. To many people think that all it takes to make money with a blog is to write one and post products on it. You need to have content, not just any content but good content. Creating good content takes time. You need to build credibility with your viewers, and this is done with good content and if you are going to use affiliate links make sure that they are with good companies for products that deliver what they say they will. You can have great content that promotes a bad product and you will never make a cent.

2. Lack of perseverance. Building a successful money making blog takes time. Face it your first idea may not be a smash hit. It could take reworking. You have to stick with it. You can not write a blog one day, leave it alone and expect it to make you money. It doesn't work that way, sorry.

3. Bad Market Research. I believe that there is a market for just about anything. Find that niche though takes a little research on your part. If you are going to blog about getting rid of man boobs and other health problems men face, then you need market your blog in that area. Find sites that deal with male health problems, or other blogs that talk about the same issues and link swap. With over 70 million blogs do you honestly think that your idea is all the unique that you can not find someone with similar topics.

4. Lack of content or reluctant to write. I already stated above that you need content. Good content so that you can build a relationship with your reader, preferably a good one. This means you have to write. I highly recommend having your writing proofread. If you don't like writing or you aren't any good at it, hire some one to do the writing for you. There are many different sources available if you need a writer. Find one and use them to help you build content.

5. No Mentor, Wrong Tools, No coaching club. As a beginner with blogging it is absolutely vital that you have some one that can teach you how to blog successfully. Having a good mentor or coach can help cut out half of the headaches and most of the frustration associated with building a blog. This may cost you some money, but if it helps you make money and become successful isn't it worth the investment?

Will Your Blog Fail?

There are good reasons to start a blog. You can be seen as an expert in your niche, you can let people know what's going on in your business, you can sell affiliate products with product reviews, and you can make money with your own products or with AdSense ads. But before you go ahead and start a blog, think first about why some blogs fail. If you keep these failings in mind before you begin, you can do what you need to do to make sure you don't fall into the same traps.

If you are already an expert in your field, that's great. If you're not, then it's going to be a lot harder to compete in a niche that is already dominated by experts. You'll have to work at building your credibility first before you can compete with the big boys.

But having said that, you can narrow your niche and specialize in your unique offerings. Just don't make the niche too narrow that you run out of stuff to blog about. Also, make sure there are people interested in your chosen niche topic. You need an audience of a lot more than one.

Another issue that can lead to failing is when people decide to have lots of blogs. That's not a problem by itself and can indeed make you good money, but you need to get one blog up and running smoothly and earning an income before you put the next one up. You need to develop a successful plan with the first blog so you can implement that plan with your next blogs.

I see some blogs failing because the owners are just in it for the money. You can tell they have no interest in the blog subject, they use PLR without bothering to rewrite it, and the blog is covered from head to toe with ads. Don't waste your time if you're not committed.

When you have a blog, you need to brand yourself - both with your logo and what your blog is about. What is your blog about exactly? If a new reader can't figure that out, they probably won't stick around. Stay within your blog subject and dive in deep. Readers interested in the subject will come back again and again.

5 Reasons Why Blogs Fail

Here is a proven fact: 95% of all blogs fail. This figure even includes those blogs which people set up as hobbies. Most of these blogs never develop a following, other than a few friends and family who may visit it in order to try and help out.

So why do so many blogs fail? Blogs fail for many reasons, but the following are some of the most common reasons:

Reason Why Blogs Fail #1: The Topics Aren't Interesting

Most people aren't interested in reading a blog which discusses the development of butterfly gardens. Most people want to read about current events in pop culture and politics. But not only do they want interesting topics, they also want to read an opinion on those topics that is fresh. They want a different opinion that does not match up with the same repeated mumbo jumbo the mainstream press offers.

Reason Why Blogs Fail #2: The Information is Offensive

The majority of people who read blogs possess an adequate amount of intelligence. What I mean by this is that they generally are not ignorant. Maintaining a blog that promotes hate or political views in opposition to democracy is not the best way to build a readership.

Reason Why Blogs Fail #3: The Writing is Poor

The art of writing is truly becoming extinct today. So much emphasis is put on technology and the spell checker that people don't feel as if they need to be able to compose clean and concise sentences. However, this belief is wrong. If you can't write it will show. It will also deter people from ever visiting your blog again.

Reason Why Blogs Fail #4: There are no Links

Part of developing a readership is earning trust. One of the best ways to do this is to provide information in your blog that is factual and not fabricated. To avoid the potential of having people question the information within your blog, you should link to other credible Web Sites where the information can be verified.

Newspapers are a great choice for doing this; especially the nationally recognized ones, such as the New York Times and the Los Angeles Times.

Reason Why Blogs Fail #5: People Give Up

It's very easy for people to get discouraged and give up on their blog after only a few weeks. Most become discouraged when they realize that a strong readership is not developing as they had thought. However, blogs take time to develop and gain popularity. You should make sure and post new articles everyday in order to gain consistent readership. You also must understand that it takes time to develop a popular blog. It won't happen in a week, or even two weeks. It may take as long as a year, so make sure and give your blog enough time to grow before giving up on it.

Is Your Blog a Big Failure? Stop Failing and Start Making Money Blogging Using These Tips!

Most bloggers want to make money, but very few are actually cashing in. Are you one of those failing to make money. If that is the case, this article will put you on the right track to making money as a blogger.

Let us cut to the chase. The first thing that causes blogs to fail is not having regularly updated content. If you are serious about making money as a blogger, you need to make a commitment to putting five to six blog posts up per week. Your subscribers want content. If you fail to provide content to them on a consistent basis, you will lose them as subscribers.

The more visitors you have, the more money you will make, bottom line. Providing great informative and entertaining content on an almost daily basis is a surefire way to keep your current subscribers, grow your subscribers thus increasing your income.

Next, when you start to get subscribers, do not scare them away by trying to sell them things with every blog post. Shoving products in the faces of your readers is a useless strategy. Yes you want to make money, but you want to be subtle with your approach while building a relationship with your readers.

First, provide useful informative content while simply placing ads and product banners on your blog. You will start to make money as your readers click on the ads and banners. After a few weeks, you can write one product review per week. Be sure to only recommend great products that you would buy or already own. Never try sell your readers garbage products. This will affect both your reputation and your income. Research or buy products before promoting them.

Make it a point to also write about products that you do not recommend as well. This lets the reader know that you are looking out for them. This strategy allows the readers to build trust in you. When the reader trusts you, the reader will buy from you.

Fail Blogs Are All the Rage

What exactly is a fail blog?

A fail blog, loosely put, is a blog that highlights something that "just ain't right." Of course, there are many things that "ain't right" in society, but that doesn't mean they are fails. This word has become an internet sensation, and the creativity of bloggers has increased tenfold with this sensational new buzzword.

For example, there are several types of failures out there. They can be broken down into "personal, society, parenting, etc." So, let's take a look at an example of what I am talking about.

You have a photo of three children in a strip club. There is a dancing woman on the stage, climbing the pole and frolicking around like most exotic dancers do. This would be a classic example of a fail. The children are obviously out of place in this environment!

Many of the things that just happened recently, such as the Dolphins blowing a huge lead versus the New Orleans Saints, as well as the dropped passes by many of their wide receivers, would be considered sports fails.

As people go about their daily lives, they can't be a champion at everything. These types of events are highlighted on the funniest websites around. These types of blogs have become a cultish sensation, and if you take a look at traffic prediction engines such as Google trends, you will see that there is plenty more funny content coming up in the upcoming months.
