Car Insurance Broker - What They Can Do For You

Like other brokers, insurance brokers are well trained in the insurance business, both commercial and personal. They are people who represent the interests of their clients, providing them the best choices for insurance options, and as front-liners, ensure their customers are sufficiently protected for their needs, and assist them in managing their risk. They also perform as middle-men to match potential clients with insurance companies.

For consumers' protection, a body of registered members regulates the sale of auto insurance. Insurance brokers must, by regulations, be licensed, stay current with their industry's new developments by continuing their education, hold themselves in high professional and ethical standards, and maintain the customer's best interests in all aspects of services and sales. Because of this, consumers can have confidence that their brokers are selling them the right insurance programs.

Not long ago, the only people who could call themselves car insurance brokers were registered members of the British Insurance Broker's Association (BIBA). As per the rules of this association, all car insurance brokers must be independent and must stick to the rigid operating practices and standards that are meant to safeguard the interests of consumers, whose interests should be the first and foremost for the brokers.

A car insurance broker discovers the best deal possible for the customer, with reliable coverage at a rate that's cost efficient, by going to the whole market to shop around.

For people who hate shopping for car insurance due to the tedium and amount of time it consumes, a car insurance broker is the best way to go as they can quickly and easily compare insurance quotes. Plus they are experts in their field. Car insurance brokers are like personal shoppers working in your favor. You can be reassured that a car insurance brokers recommendation is not biased, because they are obliged to hunt for the best deals available from the entire market.

Car insurance brokers do a wonderful job negotiating car insurance quotes with discounts, and they also have special rates available to them that aren't available to the public. If the customer needs to make a claim or has any other problems, their rights will be fought for by the car insurance broker against the underwriter. Car insurance brokers work on your behalf without charging any fee, because they have already been paid a commission by your auto insurance company.

Insurance Broker - You Will Need Them For Protection

Call them insurance brokers or insurance agents; or better still, personal financial advisors. All these titles indicate to those people who engage their whole time to ensure your life’s security. No wonder their profession is in much demand, and insurance sector is the largest employer in the nation, as they sell such financial products which protect your family and/or dependents when you are no more there.

As a matter of fact, not all the insurance sector workers are brokers; a good 70% work in administrative responsibilities of the total 2 million plus strong work force.

The Three Main Areas of Insurance Broking

An insurance broker being the front face of insurers works on three main areas of the whole business. Life insurance, Health insurance and Property insurance are these three areas. A broker is required to have a commanding and comprehensive knowledge of the financial market and economy as a whole in order that he advise his clients and help them choose the appropriate policy. Within an interaction or two with the clients the insurance broker will gather sufficient information about the clients’ financial positions and future needs that he can tailor a solution for them.

An Insurance broker’s basic duties include collecting premiums at designated intervals from policy holders, helping the family members of the policy holders in the event of death of the policy holders during the term of policy with claims and settlements etc.

Depending on how creative is an insurance broker; he can tailor products for children’s college fees, healthcare benefits and hospital covers.

Health insurance brokers prefer a different style of working unlike life and property (car, house hold articles etc) insurance brokers. Accordingly, they are rather seen working with groups of employees more than with individuals. For those who specialize in health insurance, they are expected to be well versed with healthcare issues too. The governmental Medicaid policy is serviced by brokers who are directly employed by the government.

Lastly, property insurance covers both damages done by and to the policy holders. The claim settlements of property insurances need to be precariously handled as there are possibilities of policy holders fraudulently making false claims.

Career as Insurance Broker

There is a slender difference between insurance agents and brokers. Agents work as employees of insurers where as brokers are independent entrepreneurs. Because of their vast experience and time availability, they are engaged in activities as real estate broking and investment consultation etc to supplement their incomes. Insurance broker is qualified and licensed (Personal Financial Advisor) through examination as per US Patriot Act.

How Can A Group Health Insurance Broker Assist My Company?

For many companies, the ability to provide group health insurance to their employees is a huge benefit that hard workers will truly value, especially if they have a family to take care of at home. However, sometimes the task of setting up a group health insurance program can be difficult for many new and smaller companies. Fortunately, a group health insurance broker can be readily and easily used to setup and administer such a program for any company desiring to provide health insurance to their valuable employees.

A reputable group health insurance broker will normally answer any questions a company may have about providing health insurance to the members of their company. For instance did you know that a group health insurance plan will only cover full time employees? Your group health insurance broker is responsible for providing answers to questions similar in nature. In fact, many health insurance companies define a full time worker or employee as someone that works a minimum of 30 hours a week at their place of employment.

In order to qualify for group health insurance a company must have at least 2 full time employees on the payroll. Naturally more is better and a group health insurance broker will advise a prospective company of facts just like this. Additionally at a minimum 50% or more of a company's full time staff must enroll in the offered group health insurance and coverage provided by the company. There are additional rules and regulations to follow when it comes to adding dependants and newborn children to an existing health insurance plan that covers an individual as part of a group.

When it comes to the cost of a group health insurance plan a broker will inform you that the company is required to provide or pay at least half of the health insurance premium for their full time employees. In most cases they are not required to cover any of the expenses associated with providing health insurance for an employees dependants.

One of the best benefits a group health insurance broker can provide assistance to a company with is the proper administration of their health insurance policy. Generally speaking it normally takes about a week for a health insurance provider to review any group health care plans submitted by a company hoping to obtain health insurance for it's workers. Sometimes this waiting period can drag on, especially if there is a multitude of paperwork that needs to be completed in order to obtain the health coverage.

Clearly, in the case such as the one mentioned above a knowledgeable group health insurance broker is worth their weight in gold as they can be tasked to properly prepare all of the administrative paperwork needed to complete the group health care coverage application. Their knowledge and expertise can also be used to handle or field any questions during the insurance underwriting process, which can sometimes be a very complex procedure.

As you can see the difficult process of setting up a group health insurance plan or coverage for the full time employees of a company can easily be managed and controlled with the helpful assistance of a group health insurance broker.

Let a Specialist Broker Get Your Motor Insurance Quotes

You should shop around and get several quotes if you want to get the best deal possible on motor insurance and while you could do this yourself it will take a great deal of time and even then you cannot be sure you have got the best possible deal for your insurance.

A far better choice is to go with a specialist broker and let them get your motor insurance quotes for you; a specialist motor insurance broker will know where to look and so will be able to get the quotes quicker and easier than you could ever do whilst ensuring they have scoured their resources for the cheapest possible deal.

When it comes to getting your motor insurance quotes then you first have to decide which type of car insurance would be most suitable for your circumstances. There are three main types of insurance and these are fully comprehensive, third party fire and theft and third party only, of course fully comprehensive is the dearest with the other two being the cheapest.

Third party fire and theft will insure your car against the possibility of others claiming against you if you should be in an accident and also includes cover for if your car is stolen or if it should be damaged or destroyed due to fire. However, if you caused the accident, your own vehicle would not be covered.

Fully comprehensive will also cover you for all the things that third party fire and theft does but in addition it gives cover against such things as personal belongings, money to cover any medical expenses if you should be hurt in an accident along with personal accident cover. Your vehicle is fully covered, whether or not the damage or loss was caused by you, so it is ideal for cars that are worth over £5,000.

However you should check all policies small print to be sure of what your particular policy covers you for.

Third party only will cover against any claims made by others only and is the cheapest form of insurance.

Whichever type of insurance you choose to go for, a specialist broker will always be able to get you the cheapest motor insurance quotes in the shortest time possible.

Household Insurance is Available at a Reasonable Cost via a Specialist Broker

Household insurance is a term used for home contents and/or buildings insurance and while it can’t replace what you have built up for many years in memories, it can help to replace your possessions if they are damaged or lost. Household insurance covers the majority of your belongings in the home up to a certain amount and this is stated at the outset of the policy for which you pay a monthly premium.

The majority of standard household insurance policies will cover any damage made from such as fire, theft, flooding and damage caused by storms. Accidental damage is usually not covered in the majority of standard policies and must be taken out separately but it is worth while checking the small print of a policy as sometimes accidental damage to such as TV screens and furniture is included.

When looking for household cover you should try and go for a new for old policy, this means that should you have to claim against the policy then you will get the items value for what it’s worth now, not when you originally bought it. The majority of household contents insurance policies will also cover you up to a certain extent in the event that the persons living in the home insured should die as a result of a fire or an accident within the home but again you should check the small print and exclusions.

You should take a full inventory of the contents of your home before getting a quote and instead of shopping around yourself if you want the cheapest quotes on household insurance then let a specialist broker do the work of looking around for you. It is worth while remembering that if you have any items of particular value then these might not be covered in a standard policy so always check before you sign on the dotted line.

How to Use a Discount Broker to Get Cheaper Life Insurance

Most of us know that a life insurance broker is a middleman; someone who acts as an intermediary between an insurance company and a person who wants to buy life cover. A discount broker is different in that some or all of their commission from selling a life insurance policy is sacrificed to reduce your premiums.

If you're on a budget, using an independent discount broker can help you get a good deal on your life cover and allow you to save as much as 40%. Note that the term 'discount' doesn't mean the insurance you buy is of any lesser quality. The insurance policy you buy is exactly the same as the policy you'd buy directly from the company, but you pay less.

Using a discount life insurance broker is typically cheaper than buying directly from an insurance company for three reasons:

1.First, the broker has access to a large number of companies, so they're able to quickly and easily search for cheaper policies that match what you want. 2.Second, a broker typically does a large amount of business and can often access volume discounts from insurance companies that the general public can't. They receive commissions from the insurance companies they work with, and sacrifice some or all of these earnings to maximise the premium savings for customers. 3.Third, a discount broker does not offer any financial advice so won't tell you which policies will work best for you. This way, the brokers operating costs are reduced which is passed on to you in the form of commission discounts.

This third reason is perhaps the only real disadvantage of using a discount broker. When it comes to deciding which policy will best meet your needs, you're on your own, which means you must spend time researching various policies so you can decide which will provide the most advantages.

But the main reason for using a discount life insurance broker is the cost. By sacrificing some or all of their commissions, your premiums can be reduced by 20%-30% when compared to buying exactly the same policy from the same insurer. If you compared the savings to buying cover from a bank or mortgage lender, the savings can be even higher.

Finding discount life insurance brokers online isn't difficult, but it can be tough to sort through them all to find the best. Don't assume that all brokers are created equal; they vary widely in the amount of commission they will sacrifice and in the number of life insurance companies they have access to. When you're searching for a broker, look for one who offers minimal fees and has access to a large range of insurance companies. They're the ones who are most likely to give you the best prices.

Using a discount broker isn't necessarily faster than buying direct from an insurance company. Instead of spending time comparison shopping for insurance, you'll most likely end up shopping for brokers, instead. However, even if you don't save much time, you'll save some money by using a discount life insurance broker.

Pay up to 40% less for the same life insurance policy from the same insurer with Life Saver. Compare discounted life insurance quotes from up to twenty UK insurers in seconds and apply for cover in a matter of minutes.

Get Your Life Insurance Quote From A Specialist Broker

A specialist broker in life insurance can always save you money on your premiums and when considering taking out the insurance it should be the first place you go for your cover. Quotes do vary from provider to provider and getting as many quotes as possible will ensure that you have the best possible deal and lowest premiums for your life insurance.

The quotes that you get for your insurance will also depend on the type of insurance that you require and how much cover you require. Some policies will pay out a guaranteed sum providing you continue paying the premiums and this is the most expensive type of cover, while others are cheaper for the premiums but will cease and no payout is given if you are still alive after the policy ends.

If you want a policy that will pay out a guaranteed lump sum then you should consider taking whole of insurance, this is a policy that will, providing you carry on paying the premiums pay out a fixed sum of money when you die, however long that takes. This is however one of the dearest types but then of course the payout to your family is guaranteed upon your death.

The cheapest way of insuring your life and giving yourself and your family peace of mind is to take out term life insurance, this type of policy is one of the most popular but it doesn't pay out a guaranteed sum of money. You set the term of the policy in years and decide how much you want to insure your life for and pay the premiums during that term, if you die during the term of the policy then your family would get a lump sum payout, if you outlive the policy then it ends. If you have a mortgage then a decreasing term insurance policy might be suitable as this decrease along with your mortgage but still gives you adequate protection.

As quotes do vary, once you have determined which type of insurance you want then you need several quotes and the easiest way to do this is by letting a specialist life insurance and critical illness broker do the shopping around for you.

Why You Need An Insurance Agent Or Broker Immediately!

Every insurance company has a different way of marketing their products to you. Big companies advertise on television, radio, internet and the like. Concepts are thrown out to highlight company differences such as accident and injury forgiveness, loyal customer discounts, and even coverage for those customers out there that are hard to place. So many choices right? You have no idea!! For every large company that advertises there are at least ten other insurance companies that work through a broker-agent channel that offer similar coverage at reasonable or even cheaper rates. With all these options, how can you be sure to get the best and most affordable coverage with out skimping on customer service?

Most people are worried that smaller insurance companies will not be in as good of a position to pay out claims. This is a legitimate concern which can greatly impact customer service. The truth is to be an insurance company in most states a carrier must be solvent meaning they have to be able to reasonably pay out claims. Am Best ratings and such determine financial stability of companies with AA ratings being good and B being less stable. These ratings would lead you to believe that an A rated company is better for you. But remember insurance is all about assessing risk. A large company arguably could have more risk than a smaller company and hopefully the portfolio of insureds are diverse enough to cover the low percentage of losses that could occur. Smaller companies act much the same way but on a smaller scale and sometimes especially during catastrophes a smaller company has localized personal adjusters that can service their clients with speed that can rival larger competitors. Seeing that size and ratings may have little to no impact overall for you what does this mean you should do? It still means the same thing you have to SHOP around for your insurance needs.

Time constraints prevent many from thoroughly researching insurance companies. Let's face it, we all lead busy lives and although ideally we want to research everything we do, that is not always possible. An agent has the time, in fact for a living, they ensure that they will thoroughly research where they place you to ensure you benefit. Their function is to intelligently process claims through to the insurance companies, be the first line of defense when you have questions or concerns, and keep you aware of all the possibilities abounding in the insurance world. Having an agent on your side working with you is like having a discount card or membership into the insurance world because you will always have dedicated professional staff evaluating your insurance needs to save you money.

Before you call the first agent you find it is also important to understand the different types of agencies or brokerages that exist. For instance, larger companies have agents that exclusively work for them meaning they are not going to be able to perform any due diligence for you and shop you around. Independent agents have open agency agreements to represent more than just one carrier of any specific insurance type while brokers, actually work for and represent you. Brokers do not represent any one carrier and their ultimate goal is to place you with the best company for your needs. Find a company that is a hybrid of the independent agent, who may offer you additional perks when placing you with companies they directly represent when it comes time to process claims, and broker who works for you. Because larger insurance companies have fairly decent claims processing services so whether an agency relationship exists or not, you will still receive the customer service level you expect when dealing with a broker.

So now you know and knowledge is power. Align yourself with an agency today!!! Visit http://www.EI2agency.com - the superbly different agency - the hybrid insurance agency you have been looking for!

Is the Motor Insurance Broker Dead and Buried

Are Motor Brokers Actually Going for Broke

Five years ago the chances are you would have been flicking through your favourite telephone directory looking for the best deal on motor insurance you could find. This process could literally take hours as you would go slowly flicking though the directory ringing company after company in order to get the best deal, but this would often mean you having to go through the quotation question set over and over again until you could take no more and give up.

In those good old days you were assured of either speaking direct to the insurance underwriter themselves or an authorised insurance broker who might be selling insurance as an agent for any number of insurers.

Most of these inquiries were being conducted over the phone which was by far the most influential tool for the insurance broker and insurers alike. There was still a small market for the high street motor insurance broker but these guys had taken their hammering during the eighties following the intervention of the motor insurance call centres.

During the past 5 years we have undergone yet another revolution with the birth of the price comparison companies who use the new wave media vehicle, the internet.

The web as it is commonly referred to has taken the world by storm and with it we have seen a whole new way to market a whole multitude of products including motor insurance.

Because of the methods and opportunities the web brings we have seen the birth of a new breed of marketeers, the price comparison companies. Currently these guys work with an extensive panel of insurance providers including the motor insurance brokers and direct insurers however there are genuine growing concerns that with more direct insurer input the motor insurance brokers will soon be priced out of the car insurance market.

Andy Higgins has been publishing online articles for years and currently writes for News Media Studios where he created the Article Feeder business solution

A Broker Can Find You Cheaper Car Insurance

When purchasing motor insurance, then a broker can generally find you cheaper car insurance than you would be able to find for yourself. This is due to the experience they have and the ability of being able to shop around within the market place. They will have access to insurance companies which the individual does not.

Many motorists make the mistake of just renewing their insurance; however they can often get cheaper car insurance if they change the provider they are currently with. While you might have got a good deal on your insurance the previous year it does not mean you will again. In fact insurance companies are known to set you off on an excellent rate and then boost it up each consecutive year. With this in mind if you have been renewing your policy year after year you could be paying much more than you need to.

While the majority of households now know they can save money by switching their electric supplier they should remember the same goes when wanting cheaper car insurance. However it is clear they are failing to do so with recent research highlighting that 43% of motorists have remained with their provider for a period of three of more years. 24% of individuals have remained with their insurance company for ten years or more which could mean they are seriously paying too much for their car insurance.

When it comes to saving money on your motor insurance there are several things you can do to help bring it down. Even before you buy you can help yourself. The bigger the engine size of the car the more it will cost to insure so keep this mind when looking for a new car. Also a sporty model or one that is classed as a "super car" will cost more when it comes to the insurance so if it is only a matter of looks then consider again. Adding extra features to keep the car safe goes a long way to saving money when it comes to finding it much cheaper. By installing such features as car alarms, steering wheel locks, etching the windows or fitting a tracking device can all save you money. A simple thing like keeping a car in a garage instead of just on a driveway can also help when it comes to saving money.

Also bear in mind when approaching a broker that they will be able to go to search with insurers tailored to their specific needs. For example there are lenders who will tailor insurance specifically for those who are young, old or for women drivers. Very often insurers will offer cheaper insurance for people in these circumstances and this is where you can get the best deal. Just about anyone can make savings and get cheaper car insurance if they allow a broker to look around on their behalf. Once you have the quotes to compare for the cheapest then you also have to make sure you take a look at the terms and conditions before signing on the dotted line.

Independent Life Insurance Broker - 10 Reasons To Become One

While Canada’s life and health insurance industry employs more than 110,000 people, only around half of them work in the independent channel and are not directly employed by captive insurance companies. After being involved in the life insurance market for 14 years it really felt that I could help other people with their financial situation bette and push my own career further as an independent broker. Recently I've noticed that many other professionals were asking me about my motivation to do so and what were the specifics that led me start my own company. Here they are:

  1. Being able to recommend even better products – After so many years of knowledge, I wanted to create my own portfolio and build my own structure of services. I wanted to create something that would be more attractive for my clients and ensure that both of us can get out the maximum of the win-win situation.
  2. Having a deeper understanding of the insurance industry – Although I gained a very substantial amount of knowledge from the previous years, starting your own brokerage company is a whole different endeavour. The sheer fact of learning more than ever about my chosen career field was exciting to me right from the start
  3. Commissions – Naturally, when you deal with the insurance companies directly, you get better commissions and have access to a larger palette of products.
  4. Oppurtinity for growth – Being a captive agent limits your choices and opportunities – however as an independent broker, there are no limits.
  5. Competitive edge – The fact that I can set new standards creates oppurtinity for being one of the top. My credo was always shooting for being the very best and with my own company we are able to approach our goal without extra hurdles.
  6. Financial flexibility – With your own budget, you can plan for the future better. For example, I have always spent a significant amount of money on promotional items and advertising in general, but with my own company now, we can target our promotional budgets even more effectively.
  7. Creating your own team – It is very important to surround yourself with positive people and motivate each other to be more successful. I was very lucky to find people that are not just reliable professionals, but also excellent team players. They are able to bring a lot of fresh, creative energy to our workplace and ensure that our clients get more for the money. With a strong team, you can get more done. It's more fun, too.
  8. Opportinity for better organizing – The independent channel allows you create your own systems. With my team, we’ve introduced a workflow and process that allows us to focus more on dealing with people, yet provide the most service.
  9. Motivation – After I started LSM Insurance Services, it felt like driving the same car with a new set of wheels and a great deal of tuning. I’ve become excited about life insurance more than ever and it affected all the areas of my life in a very positive way. If you've been this long in the business, a change like this is very vital.
  10. Authority – Now as the head of an independent brokerage business, I get invited to speak at numerous events and get a lot more coverage in the media. Not only does this brings us more coverage and new leads, but also allows me to connect with othersuccessful professionals. We can learn from each other and get fresh new ideas that result in an immediate increase in productivity.

As the last words, there is still something that needs to be said. Along with all the fun, there is even more work and responsibility as an independent broker. Be sure you are ready before you make the move.

Buying Insurance Bonds: Endowments And Broker Funds

Endowments

These are usually associated with mortgages. They have recently come under criticism because returns are lower than were expected a few years ago and some holders are being notified that their policy is now unlikely to produce enough money to pay off the mortgage when it becomes due.

However, they are a suitable vehicle for lump sum investing and take the form of a one off lump sum investment in a ten year policy. There are with profits and unit linked varieties, the only difference being a terminal bonus in the case of with profits, which should be substantial.

Second hand endowments

There is a market in second hand endowment policies and these can be a good investment. You buy the policy for a lump sum and unless it is paid up you need to be able to continue paying the premiums till maturity.

As the life assurance element continues on the life of the original investor, you can get an earlier pay out if that person dies but you need to keep in touch in order to find out if it happens.

To spread the risk, you can invest in second hand endowments via a specialist investment trust.

Maximum investment plans

This is a fancy name for what is actually an endowment policy do not be deceived into thinking it is something else. There are also maximum savings plans identical except they are intended for regular monthly contributions instead of a lump sum.

Broker funds

Independent financial advisers and stockbrokers offer broker funds to their clients. These are investments in the funds of a life assurance company where the broker makes the allocation over the individual funds for you.

Originally investments were 'fettered' to the funds of the chosen life company, which meant they were akin to 'fund of funds' investments, except that there the life company makes the allocations.

However, many are now 'unfettered', i.e. they permit investment in other life companies' funds, unit trusts and even individual shares.

The advantage claimed for broker funds is that the IFA/broker has extra expertise in the allocation decision, enough to more than compensate for the higher costs (but costs are not necessarily doubled because there will be some discounting of costs between the two parties).

Car Insurance Advice From Experts in Broker Jobs

It’s quite difficult to get a good deal on car insurance, brokers are experts on the industry who job is to know all about policies and coverage. However with a few tips its easy to save yourself some real money.

Shop Around – you’d be surprised just how much premiums can vary from one insurer to another often with seemingly no reason. There’s no worse feeling than knowing you could have got exactly the same level of insurance from another company for half the price. I’d recommend trying a few different comparison engines, maybe contact and independent broker and check those companies whose name you can remember. Be sure to note down what quote you got from there as it can quickly get pretty confusing.

Make Sure Covered for Everything – one risk when looking for insurance quotes online is you can end up not being covered for everything you’d like. Whether it’s driving abroad or being able to drive other cars, it’s worth double checking the small print, ringing up to check and going through the policy with a fine tooth comb when you paper copy arrives.

Take New Quote to Old Insurer – If you have a good quote from a new insurer before you jump ship if you were happy with your quality of service with the old company it’s worth going back to them with the new better quote to see if they can match it. More often than not they will especially if they are a major insurer and you’ve been a hassle free client.

Model Owners Club – most cars have clubs for their owners. Often these clubs have special deals with insurers that can save you lots of money. Have a quick look round you’d be surprised about what cars have their own special owners clubs. You might have to spend a few quid to become a member of the club but it might end up saving you much more.

Not All Comparison Engines are Comprehensive – lots of the comparison engines are spending a lot of money advertising their services but be warned they don’t include all the insurance companies. Just because you find the cheapest premium on their site doesn’t mean there aren’t better deals out there.

How stable are the Insurers – you should never underestimate the importance of the financial stability of the insurance company. You don’t want them going broke on you. This is more of a risk if you are going with a smaller insurer but its worth thinking about even if you are going for a well known brand name.

Search for Complaints – it’s important that you get good customer service, ask your friends who they are insured with and whether they have had good customer service. Another top tip is to search the internet with the insurers name with words like complaints, rubbish, problems etc.

Double Check Your No Claims – sometimes is easy to underestimate your no claims. Double check your policy to see how many you have. It can have a huge impact on the amount of money you have to pay. If you’ve earned them you should be able to take full advantage of them.

Tell them About Your Garage – where you store your car can have a real discernable impact on how much your car insurance costs. Any good insurance broker will check if you store it in your garage or not. The safer the car is the cheaper your insurance will be. Don’t lie though, the last thing you want is to have your car stolen and find you were covered because of a porky pie.

Which Way Is Better To Buy Insurance? An Agent Or A Broker?

Buying insurance is not easy at times, because it involves a lot of
options. The very first consideration should be where should you
buy your insurance coverage from.

There is always a fee in almost anything in life; that includes
hiring an agent or a broker.

"But whom should you buy from?" A lot of people have asked me this
question and this is a tough one.

First off, an agent by definition serves for one particular company
and relies solely on a particular insurance for remuneration.

A broker, on the other hand, offers different companies products
and collects commissions from promoting various products. A broker
should have wider knowledge across multiple insurance companies; hence,
offering wider choice of products.

There are good and bad for buying insurance from an agent or a broker.

For an agent, since s/he is so committed to his/ her company (no
other choice rather), they will commit and knows their plan pretty
well (responsible agent). S/he would also have better service and
turnaround time since s/he have directly access to the insurance
back office. But the bad thing of course, s/he has limited choice
to offer you, which is offset by his/her kinder and timely service.

For a broker, s/he has more choices to pick for you and could
possible get a better deal for you.

So, which one is better? You have to choose wisely.

General rule: should you require more personal service, pick an
agent, otherwise get a broker for low cost and wider choice of
product.

It your hard earned money. Choose wisely.

Get Cheap Life Insurance With a Specialist Broker

Life insurance is a valuable product when it comes to giving you peace of mind that if you should die and leave loved ones behind they at least won’t have to struggle financially to make ends meet during what is already a very stressful time. Life insurance can cost a lot less than you think if you know how to purchase it and the best way of doing so is putting it into the hands of someone who specialises in life insurance and is able to get quotes on your behalf for cover which is suitable for your circumstances. If you want to secure cheap life insurance then go with a specialist broker.

The cheapest form of life insurance and the easiest to understand is term life insurance, term life insurance means that you pay a premium each month for the cover and the period of time that you take it out for is determined at the start, as is the amount that you wish to be covered for. If you should die during the term of the policy then your loved ones would get a lump sum payout but if after the term of the policy you are still living then the policy simply expires and there is no payout.

Factors that have to be taken before you can secure a cheap life insurance policy this way are how much you want to insure your life for and how long you want the cover to last. When it comes to deciding how much you need to insure your life for then you can get a rough guess by taking your annual income and multiplying this by 10, this will give you a figure from which to work after taking other factors into account such as dependant children, your mortgage and other essential outgoings.

Life insurance can bring great peace of mind and financial security and you can get it cheaply, just put your life in the hands of a specialist and let them secure you the best and cheapest premiums for your cover.

Do I Need A Broker When Buying Health Insurance?

The simple answer to whether you need a broker when purchasing health insurance is 'no', but there are circumstances in which using a broker can be very helpful and also save you money.

Finding a suitable health insurance plan can a daunting prospect with a large number of companies to choose from and a huge range of often complex and difficult to decipher plans being sold. As a result, it is often sensible to employ the services of a broker to match your needs to the best health insurance company and plan.

Once you select a broker it is a matter of simply giving him your medical details, including information about such things as any pre-existing conditions you may have and medications you are taking, together with a list of the things that you want to see covered by your plan. The broker will then look at a number of companies and plans and get back to you with his recommendations. You can then study these, ask any questions that you might have, and leave it to the broker to get your health insurance contract drawn up and your plan issued.

One extremely important point is that a health insurance broker works independently and not for any particular health insurance company. His role is to study the whole of the health insurance market and to familiarize himself with the full range of cover on offer. He should also know the reputation of each insurance company and how it operates, including such things as the frequency with which it increases premiums and the manner in which it deals with claims.

Although the broker is independent, it is also very important to understand that he earns a commission every time a contract is signed and that his commission will vary between insurance companies. As a result, many people feel that it is in the broker's interest to recommend a plan which earns him the highest commission, rather than a plan that is in the customer's best interest. If this worries you then you should discuss this with the broker. A reputable broker he will have no difficulty at all in discussing this openly with you.

Another important point if you are worried about your plan costing you more because you are paying the broker's commission is the fact that it does not necessarily follow that you will be able to buy the plan from the insurance company yourself more cheaply. In many cases you will find that you will pay exactly the same whether you purchase through a broker or not. In simple term you end up paying the fee whichever route you take and the only difference is whether the fee goes to the broker or the insurance company.

Perhaps the greatest benefit in using a broker lies in his knowledge of the marketplace. This not only means that the broker can often find you a plan quickly, but it also means that he will be able to get you precisely the cover you need, often at a price deal which you would be unlikely to find by searching the market yourself.

If you happy that you can find your own health insurance plan and are satisfied that you understand the technical aspects of health insurance contracts and can decipher the small print of a plan then all well and good. If this is not the case, then you might be very wise to seek out the services of a health insurance broker.

Broking Jobs - Could You Be An Insurance Broker

An insurance broker is a “go-between”—they go between the business or customer and the insurance company. An insurance agent works for only one insurance company while an insurance broker represents and works for many insurance companies. An insurance broker specializes in finding the best possible insurance for the best price with the insurance company that will best suit your needs. Often a broker will come back to you with several policy options for you to choose from, as well as their expert opinion on which policy and insurance company is your best bet.

Insurance brokers usually have access to dozens, even hundreds, of insurance companies. Brokers do not charge their customers for their service; instead the insurance companies pay them a commission on the policies they sell to their customers.

In order to have a broking job, you need to be a licensed insurance broker and then gain experience in the industry. A good broker knows the insurance industry and can search the companies for policies for their customers easily and quickly. As a broker, you will be red-tape cutter for your customer, know all the jargon, processes and procedures of the insurance companies and help your customer understand the insurance policy by putting it into more layman terms.

Broking jobs exist in every aspect of insurance, but particularly auto and home insurance. There are some life insurance brokers available, but they are primarily found in home and auto insurance.

Broking jobs in the UK are overseen by BIBA—the British Insurance Brokers Association, of which all brokers are a member. This association helps to ensure that brokers are who they say they are—true brokers who represent many insurance companies instead of a broker who is really an agent for only one insurance company. The BIBA symbol is imperative if you are looking for a broker, or becoming a broker—people across the UK will look for this symbol as a method of legitimizing your broking job.

The BIBA also offers training to ensure that people in broking jobs maintain their level of understanding of the insurance market in the UK. Brokers who take the courses are brought up to date on the most current trends, statistics and warnings of the insurance industry—all of which are key to having a broking job.
